And I thought Texas was going to stick to its grounds:
From Rotoworld:
The Rangers have announced a 30-year agreement establishing Ameriquest Field in Arlington as the new name for The Ballpark in Arlington.
Too bad the Rangers' highest-paid player didn't get into the bidding. Chan Ho Park sounds better than Ameriquest Field.
Have to admit that Chan Ho joke wasn't too bad...good job Rotoworld.
Ameriquest? At least if they're going to sell out they could have picked a better sponsor, lol.
Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey
Well it was bound to happen. I can't blame them for making money the same way every other team in baseball does. Ameriquest Field sounds catchy already. At least it's not Petco or something

Yeah, they've been shopping the naming rights for awhile. I still like the old name better, but we could have ended up with much worse.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
What teams don't have corporate names to represent their stadiums now? Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, Orioles, Toronto, Cleveland....not too many. Who else hasn't sold out......yet?
Yeah it's been called that forever so people just assume it was named after the area or a street near by. But at one point the Cubs were owned by the president of Wrigley, and called it Wrigley field (I think his name was Wrigley as well, so I guess it's after the owner and a corporate sponsorship). I wonder if Wrigley is paying for the name, or if it has just remained like that since Wrigley owned the team
