termell sledge (plays for the expos)...i guess i'm on my own, here. in that case: hey, everybody!
there's a guy named termell sledge who looks like he might be able to hit a little bit. he's on a bit of a streak, and i just thought i'd mention it in case you'd never heard of him.
"OF Terrmel Sledge, Montreal Expos
.236 OBP, .538 OPS
Sledge has been pitiful, and is in danger of losing nearly all playing time in the coming weeks. Nick Johnson is still on the DL, but his return will move Brad Wilkerson back to the outfield. That will likely leave a significant dent in Sledge’s playing time. In his defense, the Expos offense has been pitiful as a whole; however, that’s simply more the reason to dump him.
sledge showed he was clearly the best prospect in the expos' organization. in 131 games at class aaa edmonton, he hit .324 with 22 hr and 92 rbis. bottom line: a definite sleeper if he can nail down time in right field.
from the fantasy baseball guide preseason rankings:
he would have been called up if the expos were allowed to call up players last september. but a callup wouldn't have made him a major league hitter. he shows some power and some speed, but not enough of either to be ready to step into a major league role comfortably. but in the short term, if he gets a chance, he may well do some damage. rotoman pick: too much age + just enough talent = nice sleeper.
Well, I know a little about the guy. Ive known him since he was in college or knew of him. But i was at a baseball camp and he was the only name that i remember that was there other than the main instrutors. He taught me how to take a lead.......
