From CBS today, 5/6:

Joe Mauer, C MIN

News: The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports that Joe Mauer (knee) is on a daily workout schedule, but will not play catcher until the swelling in his knee goes down.

Analysis: "Thing about him is that he's young, is a good athlete and can hit," said manager Ron Gardenhire. "When he gets 10-15 years into his career, maybe he can play first base or something." No timetable has been set for his return at this point.

I have him on the DL adn am playing Barrett in his place. I hope he comes back soon and DH's.

I have Pierzynski who is sucking hard - he is also my only catcher, I am thinking about picking up Mauer off the WW, and dropping gibbons, mench or ford

I've got Mauer, and I can't wait until he comes back...he's got a great eye at the plate, tell ya, that guy is gonna be a hitter...recommend getting him if you can...I like any hitting vs. porous right handed pitching in AL central, too.
