1. Are you religous?
No.
2. What genre of music do you listen to?
Mostly hip hop/rap.
3. Does your religion/spirituality/non-religous beliefs support the music you listen to?
No.
4. How are you influenced by the lyrics?
It makes me think of others less fortunate than me, or of other ways of life (as rapped about by guys like 2Pac). Otherwise, I go for beats...
5. Does your religion limit you of the music you listen to?
No.
6. If your favorite group or artist had a totally opposite belief (atheist/christian or christian/atheist) would you still listen to that group?
Well, if the lyrics were clearly preaching a message I did not believe in and found annoying and dull, no, I would not listen to the group. See if the belief is clearly reflected in the music, that might present a problem. If they were an opposite belief and didn't spend all of their lyrics trying to spread the faith, I would still listen to him/her/them.

[/b]1. Are you Religious? I'm agnostic. 2 is just 1 + 1, 4 is just 1 + 1 + 1 +1. Math is the only universal language with no discrepancies between cultures. Everything comes from 1. On some extremely deep level I guess there is a God.
2. What genre of music do you listen to? Punk, southern rock, KRS-1, underground, and cant stand most college jam bands.
3. Does your religion/spirituality/non-religous beliefs support the music you listen to?
Very abstractly maybe, but I dont put much thought into it.
4. How are you influenced by the lyrics?
Henry Rollins, Pennywise, positively. They both seem to stress improveing your life by makeing positive decisions and actions that improve your self esteem.
5. Does your religion limit you of the music you listen to?
no.
6. If your favorite group or artist had a totally opposite belief (atheist/christian or christian/atheist) would you still listen to that group?
yes.
"Son we would like to keep you around here but were trying to win a pennant this year."
I need people to answer these questions. 1. Are you religous? 2. What genre of music do you listen to? 3. Does your religion/spirituality/non-religous beliefs support the music you listen to? 4. How are you influenced by the lyrics? 5. Does your religion limit you of the music you listen to? 6. If your favorite group or artist had a totally opposite belief (atheist/christian or christian/atheist) would you still listen to that group?
I think you said you had enough replies, but I'll add mine just in case.
#1--I'm a Christian, but don't go to church every Sunday.
#2--Wide variety. Anything from gangsta rap, to heavy metal, to classical.
#3--Most of it I have no idea if they support my beliefs or not. It's irrelevant to me. I do on occasion discuss different religions and beliefs, but no one has to agree with my beliefs in order to be in my world.
#4--No. Song lyrics are song lyrics. Cartoons are cartoons. When I'm in the gym, a strong, powerful beat helps to pump iron, but lyrics have nothing to do with it.
#5--No. I respect everyone's beliefs even if they are different than mine. I'll give any type of music a shot.
#6--Yes. If they are my favorite band, then evidently there must be something in their music that I like. Could be the overall sound, the beat, the lyrics, or any combination.
Hope that helps.
Yes doctor, I am sick. Sick of those who are spineless. Sick of those who feel self-entitled. Sick of those who are hypocrites. Yes doctor, an army is forming. Yes doctor, there will be a war. Yes doctor, there will be blood.....
2. What genre of music do you listen to?
Everything--hip-hop, reggae, punk, *real* alternative, rock, jazz
3. Does your religion/spirituality/non-religous beliefs support the music you listen to?
No
4. How are you influenced by the lyrics?
Unless the lyrics are really good I don't listen. If they're really bad then I don't buy it.
5. Does your religion limit you of the music you listen to?
No
6. If your favorite group or artist had a totally opposite belief (atheist/christian or christian/atheist) would you still listen to that group?
Well, let's just say I'm not a big Ted Nugent fan, but his music hasn't made him hard to stay away from.
Bluto: Over? Did you say over? NOTHING is over until WE decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? HELL, NO!
Otter: Germans?
Boon: Forget it, he's rolling.
