2. What genre of music do you listen to?
Just about everything, favorite bands are TOOL, APC, Deftones...
3. Does your religion/spirituality/non-religous beliefs support the
music you listen to?
Somewhat.
4. How are you influenced by the lyrics?
Not a ton, though I enjoy them. Just people like me writing them, so they don't hold a ton of influence.
5. Does your religion limit you of the music you listen to?
Not at all.
6. If your favorite group or artist had a totally opposite belief (atheist/christian or christian/atheist) would you still listen to that group?
Sure would. That's what they believe, not me. If the music is cool, why not?

1. Are you religous? what's that mean? am i spiritual? sure. not involved in organized religion. 2. What genre of music do you listen to? i'm only allowed to listen to one genre? punk, jazz, pop/rock, classical, hip/hop, cuban, brazilian... 3. Does your religion/spirituality/non-religous beliefs support the music you listen to? yes. 4. How are you influenced by the lyrics? depends on the lyric, i suppose. anywhere from "trying to ignore it", to "embracing a staggering array of potential meanings" 5. Does your religion limit you of the music you listen to? yes. my religion bans modern country, corporate rap, corporate rock and smooth jazz. 6. If your favorite group or artist had a totally opposite belief (atheist/christian or christian/atheist) would you still listen to that group? as long as it didn't affect the integrity and honesty of the music, i'd have no problem with it.
<---- Former student here, so I'm always willing to help. Plus, I fully agree with waiting till the last possible moment to start something for school and then prefering to watch sports.
1. Are you religous?
Yes.
2. What genre of music do you listen to?
All major ones.....country, rock, hip hop, top 40, jazz, 80's, christian (religious....not the boring stuff, but the good stuff)....basically, I don't like Polka.
3. Does your religion/spirituality/non-religous beliefs support the music you listen to?
No.....except for in the case of the religious music.
4. How are you influenced by the lyrics?
Not influnced at all. I am my own person. Sometimes you can identify with the lyrics, but I am never influenced by them.
5. Does your religion limit you of the music you listen to?
No. I am able to seperate the two.
6. If your favorite group or artist had a totally opposite belief (atheist/christian or christian/atheist) would you still listen to that group?
Yes.....because, like I said....the lyrics don't change me.
Pretty much everything...Slayer to Bach (the Passions are very amusing to listen to during sports. It never fails that during the 'Donner Und Blitzen' part, some action happens on the field. Spectacularly when I was watching the Big 12 Championship w/ my 2 month old daughter a few years ago, I think maybe Kansas State vs. Texas Tech or something?). Favorite would probably be Spacemen 3, an antecedent of Spiritualized.
3. Does your religion/spirituality/non-religous beliefs support the music you listen to?
N/A; see above
4. How are you influenced by the lyrics?
I look at music as being something that is supposed to evoke something. Lyrics can contribute to this.
5. Does your religion limit you of the music you listen to?
N/A; see above
6. If your favorite group or artist had a totally opposite belief (atheist/christian or christian/atheist) would you still listen to that group?
I can't say I really dig most 'contemporary christian' artists as it does not seem to evoke much but, Christopher Parkening CAN PLAY!!! I listen to music for the music, not for the beliefs. That being said, Gregorian Chants (I attempt to aim for older recordings that are not as overproduced as the 'Chant' ones which I heard at the library and did not get into...) seem to be much more evocative to me (I was a history major...) than anything recent I've heard.
