Pitching question......

Postby mattusd » Mon Mar 24, 2003 3:56 pm

I need one last starter on my roster...

I picked Dan Wright, but now i'm a little worried because he's being lit up this spring. i know that does not mean much, but he is really getting torched, i think he's given up something like 10 runs in a like 3 or 4 innings.

anyways, the guys left are Jake Peavy, Brett Myers, Darren Dreifort, Horacio Ramirez, and Josh Fogg.

do i hold onto Wright, or is one of these guys a better pick?

....dreifort and ramirez are a little tempting, but they aren't sure things coming into the season. also, peavy and myers didn't look that great in their limited time last year.... and i think fogg sucks.

what does everyone think?

I like Brett Myers out of that group (not because I'm a Phillies fan)....

just found out that Dan Wright has an inflamed pitching elbow.

is this enough to worry about his season.... or at least enough to dump him in favor of Brett Myers?

help needed....

I would take Myers or Peavy.

hey, thanks guys... i went with peavy. when it came down to it, i just felt a little uneasy about d. wright's elbow, plus the fact that he barely made the rotation.

plus, i like peavy's k-potential.... 90k's in 90+ innings... that was too good to pass up, especially his stellar 3 to 1 k:bb ratio. and since i live in sd, i figure it would be tite to watch him in person instead of hoping wright doesn't get shelled in chi-town.

watch out: peavy in '03.
