Whats the deal with smoltz?

Hes off to a real shaky start. He only has 4 saves and 14 ks. Also a era close to 4. Whats the deal? Should i be worried or will he return to form?

Got off to a shaky start yes, but aside from last night he has been lights out recently.

He's actually been pretty good. His WHIP is awesome, his K/9 is right where it should be, and other than the 3 HR's he's given up (more than he gave up all of last year) he's been lights out. He'll be fine, don't worry. 3 bad pitches to start the season isn't a sign that he'll start to deteriorate. It was just rust from the off-season.

Hard to say that he hasn't recovered from that offseason surgury, I mean his velocity is still there, problem was he was throwing nothing but his fastball earlier in the season, and players were feasting on it.

Now that he started to throw his slider and breaking pitches he has been mostly unhittable again....and do you see the guy after a few people get hits off him? He gets pissed off and gets untouchable..he's a real competitor.

He hasn't had alot of save chances. Don't blame him if the Braves have not been involved in many close games. That should even out over the course of the season.

i havent checked yesterday stats but before yestersday games Smoltz had 13 k´s in almost as manny innings and had walk NO ONE this season. speed is there, he´ll be fine i believe

i remember he started off slow last year. i believe the mets knocked him around for a bunch of runs. he will settle down.
