Victor Martinez or Lecroy when he returns?

Postby davus » Wed May 05, 2004 2:20 pm

Who would be a better choice here? At the beginning of the season I saw Lecroy as a possible top 5-7 catcher. Can he still do it? Is Martinez a better bet?

What are your thoughts?

well, I'm not one of the wise ones...but I bet you could pick up Estrada and you'd be happier with him.

I think Martinez can keep this avg up for the rest of the season. He's also hitting third. I like him a lot.

I like him a lot too but Gerut has hit 3rd all season ;-) ... From past conversations I've had in different threads Martinez will see a lot of time at the 4 and 5 spots in the lineup.

he has always had great seasons in the minors and he has been heralded as the second coming of mike piazza, so far he hasnt disappointed this year, i say trade lecroy and go with martinez.
Reyes and guerrero, the two most blessed players in the league, not to mention the most fun to watch
