At the beginning of the season I had Vidro rated about the 5th best 2B. His performance has not been all that great and is being outplayed by several 2b on the WW. I recently picked up Loretta as a FA and am now starting him. Should I keep Vidro on the bench or just drop him and pick up someone else to help my roster?
I have tried to trade him for a pitcher or something but no one is interested right now.
What to do?

Do not drop him. I have him also and am just benching him (behind Brian Roberts

) for now, until he heats up a little. I am also shopping him around, looking to package him with another player for an upgrade.

In the end, Vidro will still be a top-5 second baseman and if not top-5, certainly a top-10. He'll heat up soon and should get some protection when Carl Everett and Nick Johnson return to the lineup. Also, there is a 50/50 chance he'll get traded to the Yankees anyway and that will boost his value.

picked him up from the wire for Contreras, he's my backup to Soriano right now and possible trade bait down the line

I just gave Freddy Garcia and received Vidro. I am quite happy with the deal, At the beginning of the season I would have had to give up Kevin Brown (or the like) for Vidro. Vidro is now in MI spot b/c soriano is occurpying 2B.
Dont drop Vidro--you probably spent a 6th-8th round pick on him.

I've drafted vidro over that past few years and I always wonder why. There is something about him that makes me feel that I wasted a pick on him...but then I do it again the next year. He's the kind of guy you will have to bench a few times a year because he gets cold.
