Tigers place Cornejo on disabled list

Anaheim, CA (Sports Network) - The Detroit Tigers Wednesday placed pitcher Nate Cornejo on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation. The move is retroactive to May 3.

Cornejo is 1-3 with an 8.42 earned run average in five starts this season. He posted a 6-17 mark with a 4.67 ERA in 32 appearances in 2003.

Meanwhile, the club purchased the contract of righthander Craig Dingman from Triple-A Toledo. Dingman recorded a 1-1 record with a 3.48 ERA in nine games with the Mud Hens.

Dingman is expected to join the Tigers for Wednesday's game against Anaheim.
