Nate Field ... KC RP ... SLEEPER CLOSER

He will end up their closer... Macdougal is awful he is all over the place. I had him last year and its just scary when hes off which seems to be a lot. If I were the other team I would just sit back and watch him walk me. He has nasty stuff but cant find the zone.

If you are looker for a sleeper closer pick up field. Lescanik isnt fit for the job and doesnt like it.

While I agree that MacDougal isn't a lock to keep the position....they will give him at least a few more chances before they replace him. He has only pitched like 2 or 3 innings this year due to early injuries. I am not going to even consider picking up Fields unless Doogie blows a couple more saves.

If Royals' closer Mike MacDougal falters in the next little while, it will be Nate Field who will get the chance to close.
The 28-year-old Field has allowed only one run in 9 2/3 IP, while striking out nine and walking only two. With Curtis Leskanic hurting (shoudler) and struggling, Field and his 95 MPH fastball and effective slider could get the chance to close some games.

Yeah Leskanic is hurt too, so Field is the backup closer right now, defintley worth keeping an eye on

update:

Nate Field becomes backup closer

Nate Field, RP KC

News: The Kansas City Star reports that Field has surpassed Curtis Leskanic, who is limited by shoulder problems, as Mike MacDougal's backup closer. With MacDougal ineffective at Toronto Monday, Field allowed only one hit in two-thirds of an inning for the win.

Analysis: Field has allowed only one earned run in 10 appearances so far this season. Consider picking him up in AL-only leagues if you are desperate for saves. The Royals have not had many opportunities this season, but Field is sandwiched by two shaky relievers at the back end of the bullpen.

Thanks for the update...I will be adding Fields if MacDougal pitches poorly tonight. If you look at MacDougal's split stats from last year, he doesn't deserve to be closing.
