What is up with him? He started off very nice but now is struggling badly. I just picked up Victor Martinez, so should I start Victor over Lo Duca from now on. What do you guys think?
I do not agree with dropping Lo Duca. Several reasons:
1. He is batting .388, currently one of the best in all baseball, not just the NL.
2. He can play 1B for your team. Having a player that can play multiple positions is very valuable.
3. Martinez, is good right now, but not proven as full timer at catcher. Good pick-up and someone to keep in keeper leagues for the high upside. Lo Duca has a decent track record and good sticks around him.

I actually just picked him up cause someone dropped him. I think he'll be coming outta the slump soon. He's hitting .222 for the last week, but the overall average is too nice for me to pass up.
id find a way to trade lo duca and if you cant get any takers, just drop him. martinez will be playing everyday, and will continue to hit in the heart of the lineup. martinez could finish out this year as a top5 catcher, while lo duca hits .212 post all star break, like usual.
It is still a long-time to "post-all-start break". History indicates a strong second half slide by LoDuca, but for the next few months he is a better bet than a totally unproven guy like Martinez.
