Marcus vs Brian Giles

Postby GSes » Tue May 04, 2004 8:32 pm

On the Braves vs pads game they just showed a very intresting stat

Thru the first 305 games of Marcus & Brian Giles career

Brian Giles
286 avg
41 HR
164 RBI

Marcus Giles
291 avg
41 HR
140 RBI

The similarity is incredible and veru intresting. IMO, Marcus is going to be one of the top 2nd Baseman for years to come.

i still wish brian never would have left cleveland. damn rincon...... if theres anyone out there would would rather have rincon than giles, i suggest you kill yourself right now.

as for marcus, hes in store for a great career, and will soon be the next jeff kent. top 2 second basemen fantasy wise, and would be first in a year or two if not for soriano and his steals.
theyre coming.....

its so cool when 2 brothers are both great players. B Giles is a top OF and M Giles is a top 2B. Id rather have Marcus, cuz the man is 5 tool at a thinner posistion, but Im happy with either.

8-o ...I had never comparatively looked at their numbers...amazing how close they are.... :-)

Glad I got them both in my NL only keeper... :-D

I would give it to Marcus Giles because of his good speed

Whoa, I would have guessed Brian was much better. I personally would preffer Brian because of the consistency (over the years) and more power but Marcus plays a tough posision and with the slip pickin' out there he might be a top 30 fantasy player next year.

Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

The difference is that Marcus isn't going to start poppin roids this year and start hitting 40 HR's instead of 20 a year. ;-D

oops...the roid issue again. I'll leave that alone.

While Brian is a slow starter and is expected to warm up a bit, I still think that he is starting to get old...the slow starts get slower and the hot times will be cooler. I'd take Marcus over him without a second thought...if they were the same position...but they're not, so that's that.
