I think you said it when u said "pretty bad team." But its more like awful. If you're in a h2h format risking a guy like Julio to start and then his team be in one of the many slumps they are going to be in could really hurt you for the week. You just never know when Bal. is gonna go into one of those 8-10 game losing streaks and plus not win many games anyway. I know in my league 10 team h2h Julio went in the 21st out of 22rds. And the guy that drafted him has been trying to trade him ever since. He's had no takers.

If I needed more closers, I'd pick Julio up - he's probably better than the other closers on waivers. But if you're already happy with your closers, I'd leave him. I agree with you that he's a good closer on a bad team, so it's tough trying to guess how many saves he'll get. But last year he got 25 saves even though the Orioles started the season with a closer committee.

I like to pick up good closers on bad teams -- they're lower rated and you can get them later and their teams are, if they're in the lead, in a lot of close games. And I think that Julio is better than a lot of the other closers period in terms of pure talent. I'd pick him up, personally. Look at Mike Williams last year - and Pittsburgh is terrible. Grab him now.

he's healthy as a horse. Will save 30 games. Guy is retarded for dropping him for hammond unless you count holds.

Julio is definitely a nice guy to have. He'll get his fair share of saves, and will build on his success as a closer last year. Even though he plays on a terrible team, they'll still win some games, and Julio will be there to close them out. If you have daily transactions, he's especially valuable because you can start all the pitchers you want by rotating in those who have starts, while leaving all your closers in the lineup.

Julio could become a elite closer. Hammond is junk. Get Julio. Dont worry about save chances, they will be there.
