Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Yankees placed first baseman Travis Lee on the 15-day disabled list prior to Saturday's game against Kansas City.
Lee, 28, is on the DL for the second time this season, both times due to a left shoulder injury. In seven games this season, Lee is batting .105.
Lee hit .275 with 19 home runs and 70 RBI with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays last season before signing as insurance in case Jason Giambi goes down.
In a related move, the team purchased the contract of infielder Homer Bush from Triple-A Columbus.
