Barrett vs Wilson vs Estrada

Postby jpbusta » Fri Apr 30, 2004 10:34 pm

Who do you think will do the best? craig wilson has been good giving me a few homers and good BA, but Barrett and Estrada seem to be doing well now. Should I drop wilson for any of them?

Craig Wilson's playing time will disappear when Jason Bay comes back. Also he plays on a very unproductive Pirates lineup.

I have Barrett but am thinking of dropping him (all the experts say despite his hot start he will suffer an injury/not have a good season) but Estrada could be good. Everything I've seen of him has been good. If you need runs and RBI's go with Barrett, who will have a lot of men on to score in and score himself with the productive Cubs lineup, but Estrada if you want a good catcher 8-o

Barrett is nothing more than a catcher that belongs on the bench that is somehow a starter, Estrada has upside.

He is out to prove himself, he won't hit for power like Wilson, but he could easily prove equal in RBI, BA and Hits.

But to the point, no, neither Estrada or Barrett is worth dropping for Wilson at this time.

I say keep Wilson, if he starts to lose significant playing time at least one of these guys should still be around. With Randall Simon out I wouldn't expect Wilson to lose time very soon.
