Betancourt the man for now

Rafael Betancourt - R - Indians Apr. 30 - 9:43 pm et

From rotoworld.com

Rafael Betancourt will take over as the Indians' closer, manager Eric Wedge said.
Betancourt, who is on pace to throw 100 innings, has allowed seven runs -- five earned -- in his last 6 1/3 innings and might be wearing down already. Moving into the closer's role should mean that he'll be used less frequently, which should help him. He should be picked up in any leagues in which he's available, but it's not very likely that he'll remain Cleveland's closer for the rest of the year.

I'm thinking of dropping Riske and giving up on any hope that a decent closer might surface in Cleveland. :-/

Maine has a good swing for a pitcher but on anything that moves, he has no chance. And if it's a fastball, it has to be up in the zone. Basically, the pitcher has to hit his bat. - Mike Pelfrey

i would put money that there wont be a decent closer in Cleveland till Bob Wickman is healthy. That'll be some time.

I read it on Rotoworld.

I went and picked up Betancourt in all 3 of my leagues dropping, Lidge, Speier and Riske.

Chalk me up for another who dropped Riske, I think his value is completely null now. I would be amazed/amused if someone in my league actually picked him up off waivers.
