Halladay vs Hudson

Postby mets6986 » Fri Apr 30, 2004 9:56 pm

Lets get a debate going here. Whom would you rather take in a 16 team dynasty league as your staff ace - Halladay or Hudson? I saw this trade go down in my league, but was wondering which SP you'd take and why?

Wins = 8
Losses = -5
Strikeouts = 1
Walks = -1
Outs = 1
Hits = -1
Earned Runs = -2
Complete Games: 5 pts each
Shutouts: 20 pts each

Hmm...with that point system I'd take Halladay.

Halladay is better than Hudson in K's, BB, CG.

Hudson is better with ERA and Wins.

They are about equal in Shutouts and IP.

It's tough to call, because up until 2002 Halladay was putting up terrible numbers, while Hudson has put up consistant numbers his entire career. But today, I'd take Halladay, only with that points system though.

I would go with Hudson by a long shot, Halladay isn't all that good and by the end of the year Huson will have more strikeouts!

well, last year Halladay had about 40 more ks than hudson, so i doubt hudson will top him their. Hudson should beat him in wins and ratios though, but ratios are pretty pointless in that league. And to call a Cy Young winner "not all that good" is pretty idiotic.
