new,,,need draft stategy advice

Postby clockerq » Sat Mar 22, 2003 8:18 pm

i've been in fantasy football for years,,but never did baseball before. some of my football buddies are in a money league and they were a team short,,so i'm here. i need help in drafting strategy,,, which positions to fill first,,like SP'S and OF,,should i just go for value? should i use an overall ranking cheat sheet or a breakdown by position (which is how i do football)? leave 2b's towards the end if i don't get a good one early,,etc.? any help greatly appreciated,,draft is tomorrow :-o

You have to pick your own style. There is no one correct way to draft. There is a wrong way, but we won't get into that. Pick a style and perfect it, modify it and make it your own. Search on the internet for Fantasy Baseball draft strategies. I have some on my website as well.

I'm sorry, but to properly do a draft, you probably need about a week of preparation. You have to analyze your league's rules and find out how to best exploit them. There is a way to exploit the rules in almost every league. Some leagues are more geared towards hitting, and some leagues are more geared towards pitching. I am in two leagues, and in one league I went pitching over hitting, in another league I went positional players over pitching. And I think I did pretty well in both drafts. It really depends on the current make-up of your league. Post your league rules (roster requirements, scoring system), and I may be better able to assist you.....
I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
