Who do you all think will be the first to go this year? Right now I think Tosca may be on the way out, but I also know (and hope) that if my Mariners stay in last for very long Melvin will be on his way out.
And yeah, this is kind of a continuation of sunspot's post.

Good question. If it goes to the most deserving candidate, then Jim(m)y Williams should be the first to get the axe. But they didn't fire him in the offseason so they most likely won't during the regular season unless they have a bad slump. I like the Astros so I hope they do just that. I think it's their best chance to go deep in the playoffs.

If I were to make an educated guess I'd say the first manager fired will be Bob Melvin or Frank Robinson, Tosca and Brenly should be concerned too.

My guess is Bowa. With a new stadium and huge pre-season expectations, I don't think the Phils' management will go much longer unless they turn it around. He's created too much tension and problems in the locker room.

melvin maybe.
selig will not fire robinson. doing that would be tantamount to contracting the expos. He will leave the club as soon as it is sold. He and omar minaya (sp?) are doing MLB a huge favor by running the montreal club.
i think bowa and j. williams ought to be looking for aaa jobs.

I hope so. He leave's the SP's in too long sometimes and is killing Ensberg's potential.

I think Melvin will be fired, but if the Yanks keep doing bad, Torre will be the first to go.

Melvin? seriously, i had no idea he was considered on the hot seat.
I am going with Bowa by June 1. i don't think he makes it out of May.
wish we could start a pool.
