Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - One day after breaking his right index finger on a bunt attempt, Cincinnati Reds catcher Jason LaRue was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Thursday.
LaRue was injured in the ninth inning of a 10-9 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers when he was hit in the finger by a Brooks Kieschnick pitch. LaRue remained in the game, finishing 3-for-5 with four RBI.
The Reds, who are off on Thursday and didn't make a move to fill the roster spot, will have a better idea of how long LaRue will be out for when he is examined again next week.
