Kansas City, MO (Sports Network) - The Texas Rangers activated first baseman Mark Teixeira off the 15-day disabled list and started him in Thursday's game against the Kansas City Royals.
Teixeira was on the DL since April 13 with a strained left oblique muscle. It was his first trip to the DL in his career.
Teixeira is batting .280 with two home runs and seven RBI in seven games this season.
The Rangers optioned first baseman Adrian Gonzalez to Triple-A Oklahoma to make room on the roster.
