Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - The Cincinnati Reds have put outfielder Austin Kearns on the 15-day disabled list with a non-displaced fracture of his left forearm.
Kearns suffered the injury after being hit by a pitch from Pirates' starting pitcher Ryan Vogelsong in the second inning on Monday night.
On Tuesday, Kearns was fitted with a cast and a bone stimulator. He will be evaluated again on Monday, at which time it will be determined how much time Kearns could miss.
Kearns, who played in only 82 games last year because of a shoulder injury, was hitting .137 this season. He was in a 2-for-23 slump when he was hit on the forearm.
