(Sports Network) - Los Angeles lost its series opener with the New York Mets Tuesday, falling 9-5 at Dodger Stadium.
The Dodgers were 10-0 in games when they scored at least four runs until Tuesday night.
Los Angeles starter Hideo Nomo (3-2) took the loss, surrendering four runs on five hits and two walks in six innings. He fanned three.
Jose Hernandez homered for the Dodgers, who have lost three of their last five. Cesar Izturis and Milton Bradley had three hits apiece in the loss. Izturis has hit safely in 14 consecutive contests. Juan Encarnacion has 12 RBIs in his last 12 games.
The Dodgers will counter with 26-year-old lefthander Odalis Perez on the hill. Perez is coming off a no-decision against the San Francisco Giants last week, surrendering seven hits and four runs through six innings. The southpaw walked and struck out three in the contest.
Perez has registered 3-4 mark with a 3.26 ERA in six career contests versus New York.
