(Sports Network) - The Detroit Tigers try to get back on the winning track this evening when they continue their three-game set against the Anaheim Angels at Comerica Park.
In the opener of the set on Tuesday, Darin Erstad's three-run double in the eighth provided all the cushion that Anaheim would need, as the Angels triumphed 10-4.
Brandon Inge hit his second grand slam in less than a week for the Tigers, and also threw out two runners on the basepaths. However, he also committed an outfield error that led to a run, as Detroit lost its second straight.
Nate Cornejo (1-2) dropped to 0-4 lifetime against the Angels, giving up four runs -- three earned -- on seven hits and two walks. He struck out one over five innings.
Detroit is 5-5 in its ballpark this season.
Anaheim won six of the seven matchups between the two teams last season and is 15-2 against Detroit since the start of the 2002 campaign. The Angels have also had success in the Motor City, where they have won seven of their last eight.
