Blue Jays place Myers on DL

Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - The Toronto Blue Jays placed catcher Greg Myers on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday.

Myers suffered a severe left ankle sprain in Monday's 6-1 win over the Twins when rounding third base in the eighth inning.

Myers is batting just .222 with no homers and one RBI this season.

Toronto purchased the contract of catcher Gregg Zaun from Triple-A Syracuse to take Myers' spot on the roster.
