Can you rate my newest addition to the family? Honesty is appreciated, and just so you know, I was picking last in a 12 man yahoo roto league.

Okay- Honest. I don't like the Boones too much. Both are solid but neither spectacular. Juan Gone actually tries to get injured. Jacque Jones hit .213 against lefties and the Twins have 2 good OF prospects salivating to take some ABs away from him. Your bench is weak.
Pitching. Nice 1-2-3. I'm not sold on Contreras. His father is 80. If he is in his early 30s, I'll eat my hat. You have a lot of avg or below avg closers. Wait, scratch that. I think in pure terms of talent, Julio is the best closer in the AL. I think that he can be lights out like Rivera was until last year.
Last second thoughts - Pudge is injury prone. I'd drop lofton and pick up somebody who can play C. People that could be good and available in yr league: Vic Martinez and Craig Wilson (will be eligable soon at C).

I appreciate your honesty. I was thinking Aaron would be a nice slot for SS for some power and sliding Valentin to third. Reasons I picked both Pudge and Javy...both in contract years, and Pudge has something to prove. Hopefully, he'll go for 20+ hr's, and .295 avg...that would satisfy me at C. Do you think I should deal one of my OF's, like Vernon Wells, or Jacque Jones to shore up my rp's? Let me know...I appreciate your input

I think that sliding Aaron Boone over to ss is a good idea when he's eligable, though I wouldn't expect him to hit like he did last year. Last year he almost doubled his career highs in both HRs and SBs. I think that you should try to deal Jacque Jones while you can before he starts sitting all the time against lefties (or you could pay close attention and sit him on those days). I like Wells and doubt that you could get fair value for him right now. It's been proven time and time again that the contract year has nothing to do with actual performance. In the cases you mentioned, pudge will always be good when he's healthy. You don't want him playing through pain. Javy is 33 and way past his prime. He has declined every year since 1998.
Just my opinion.
