Can we give the old man a break. Hes the butt of jokes everywhere because of one fluke bad year. So far hes 5-5 in save opps with a 0.00 era and a sub 1.00 whip with 5 ks through 7.1 IP. Sure the Ks could be higher, but for a waiver wire pick up what more could you ask. I say Mesa returns to his old form this year, just to show all you non believers.

I agree with you that he's had a great start. He is however, the owner of a 4.30 lifetime ERA and a 1.46 whip. That's Braden Looper good/bad. On top of that he manages to have really good stretches and then for a long, long time he looks like one of the little leaguers (an older chubbier version of course) that I coach. I just hate to own him during one of those bad stretches.

I have faith as well but I gotta tell you his old form was still a career ERA of 4.30 and WHIP of 1.46.

Scary stats for a closer.

Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

Ugggh... As a Cleveland fan I think he deserves the jokes. 97 still hurts. I don't want to see that old form again.

Wow, as I was checking his stats I saw he actually pitched a shutout back in '93.

He had two sub 3.00 ERA before last year with 40 saves each year. I drafted him in the 24th round in two leagues and am laughing at all those doubters right now. LETS GO PIT

All it takes is one of his Phillie performances from last year and that 0.00 era and sub whatever whip are right out the window. It's not a matter of "IF" it's just a matter of "WHEN" and "HOW OFTEN".

Good Luck.
