i know this seems crazy, but montreal gives livan NO run support, and i LOVE oliver's K potential. i can either get perez for vidro, or hernandez for vidro/k matsui. what should i do??

I like Livan alot this year and Im hoping he starts getting a little more run support. Personally I dont think Perez is worth trading anybody for at this point until he can put more than three good starts up. He is getting picked up in most leagues today after yesterdays performance, and I have picked him up myself, but some team might be willing to pay more for a serviceable 2nd baseman.

as much as it pains me to say this, livan is a better pitcher on a worse team. pittsburgh isn't going to be confused with the big red machine anytime soon, however, suffice to say it will probably be better off than mtl offense wise.
livan will prolly win 10-15, and with him i wouldnt exactly be surprised if he imploded back to 4.5eradom.
oliver might be able to do something good, however i wouldn't bet on it being this year. as i said in another thread, it wouldnt be the biggest surprise ever if he ended up having a really good season, as he's still 23 at the most, however, its not something to be banked on.

Oliver's got more potential because he has the better arm. IF he can learn how to control his pitches, he'll be a cy young candidate.
Livan will never be a Cy Young candidate.

Time will still tell if Oliver has really turned a corner this year. If he hasn't been picked up yet, I would probably do it too. But Livan is still more proven. We're still in April, and the hitters haven't seen enough pitchers yet to say if some of these young guys are the real deal (although I really hope Oliver is). The weather is still a little colder and that favors the pitchers also.
