How do you know he has awesome speed? Just because he stole a bunch of bases a few years ago in Japan doesn't mean a whole lot. MLB is full of guys who stole 30+ for a season or two in the minors but don't run so much now. And he didn't even put up huge SB totals his last few years in Japan.

Remember, Japan is closer to a AAA level of play than MLB--just because he can run on guys there doesn't mean he has the speed to run on a major league arm behind the plate (and unfortunately for him the only really bad arm on the NL is on his own team).

If you were expecting 25 SBs, that may still happen, but if you were expecting 50 you will be sorely dissapointed.
