Is Bigbie the next Dunn?

Postby RoxSox8 » Sun Apr 25, 2004 10:21 pm

I have been quietly watching Bigbie's stats and he looks like a 20hr, 20sb guy. Is this true? Where is he hitting in the Balt. lineup? Any Orioles fans have any inside info on this guy? I'm about ready to drop the infamous Kearns for him. :-P

Keep Kearns. And Bigbie is nothing like Dunn. Bigbie is a guy who'll get runs and SB's, with a little pop. Dunn has tons of power, and steals a base or two once in a while. They're more like opposites than they are the same.

Bigbie is a first rounder from 1999 out of Ball State. Hasn't really developed like the O's thought he would when they tabbed him. Thought he played a little over his head last year, as his hit rate doesn't indicate he's a .300 hitter. Not really much to get excited about, he's only worth a spot in deep leagues. Maybe a Mark Kotsay type who can contribute a little in every category, but will never be a star.
