How Desperate For Saves Am I?

Postby perlick29 » Sun Apr 25, 2004 5:10 pm

Should I hit the panic button??? I have 1 legit closer right now, Dotel, and myy other closer is hurt. I just hate seeing this happening to me. Fortunately I'm in first place in my 14 team mixed league, but I have 1 point in saves. I'm thinking of going for another closer because it's the only category which I'm having trouble in. I have 14's in all the hitting categories and my pitching has been really good. Maybe I should look to get guys like riske or nathan for ortiz? Is that a good idea, ortiz for riske?

I think you could use another closer (MacDougal blows). But Ortiz is too much to give for Nathan or especially Riske.

If you are dominating in all the other categories, you could always forget about saves and focus more on the other categories. Saves are only 1 category.

Agreed. Ortiz is too much.

I would try to sell MacDougal's stats last year. Maybe you can get a better closer out of him.

Also, you have a couple of guys that are off to hot starts this year (Sanders, Womack). Ask around...see what you can get out of them.

I would trade Dotel for another decent starting pitcher and punt the saves category.

i wouldn't over trade for one. guys like charles johnson, tony womack, and reggie sanders are going to cool off eventuallly. i wouldn't want to give up too much offense.
