Arlington, TX (Sports Network) - Veteran Texas Rangers lefthander Kenny Rogers will miss his scheduled start Sunday against the Seattle Mariners because of a viral infection.
Rogers is expected to be available out of the bullpen for one or two innings for the Rangers on Sunday.
Veteran righthander John Wasdin or rookie lefthander Ryan Snare are options to make Sunday's start for Texas.
Wasdin was held out of his scheduled Triple-A start on Saturday. He is 1-0 with a 0.60 ERA for Oklahoma City. For his career, Wasdin is 31-30 with a 5.22 ERA. He went 0-1 with a 23.40 ERA in five innings for Toronto last season.
Rogers is 3-0 with a 3.96 ERA in four starts for the Rangers. He returned for a third stint with Texas as a free agent this offseason. Rogers also played for the Rangers from 1989-1995 and from 2000-2002.
