Early in the season last year, I traded Nomar for Rich Aurilia and Aramis Ramirez. Funny thing is, I orginally thought that was a great trade for me. But by the end of the season I had dropped Ramirez and traded Aurilia for Eckstien. So really I traded Nomar for Eckstien. Just thinking of this is bringing back nightmares. That one espicially hurt, because Nomar is one of my all-time favorites.

last year i needed a SS so i traded
Vlad,Mike Williams (was just a throw in cause i had to drop some one)
for
Nomar and Nen
If you think about it.... if mike williams was just average with 20 saves than it would have been a good deal but to bad he was great last year

two moves i made were glaringly bad in retrospect. in 2001, i traded kerry wood and dave burba for darin erstad. this was AFTER erstad's 2000 campaign of 240 hits. wood was returning from injury. i still won the league.

last year, i picked up odalis perez and garrett anderson off the waiver wire. (someone did cut garrett, and don't say "what a stupid league" cuz it wasn't a stupid league) I traded both of those guys for jd drew. well, odalis broke out. garrett had a career year. and jd drew was marred by injuries. I still won the league though on monster pitchin and balanced hitting.

this will be my third season of fantasy, and thus far i've had one trade that really stunk. early on last season, i traded carlos lee for scott strickland. i wanted montreal's closer and got just another bullpen hand for the mets. lee didn't have a stellar year last year, but at least he'd give me production, whereas strickland lasted about 4 days on my squad.

the jury's out on my one trade this year: i gave up bonds for vlad, straight up. i got bonds with the #5, some dude took vlad at #1, but i'm pretty sure he missed the draft and picked by default rankings where vlad is #1 overall. originally i offered bonds and bellhorn, but the league vetoed it. i think i can live with that :)
