Bonds' 2001 season might have placed this stat in the mainstream, but there is one active player who has a higher CAREER OPS than Barry Bonds. Can you name him?

Todd Helton? Does he have 3000 PA's yet? I know he's getting *close* to 3000, and I know he has a monster OPS...

Just checked mlb.com... Wait until tomorrow night, then enter Helton as my guess. By then, he should have 3000 PA's and still be higher than Bonds in OPS. :-D

You could be right there, but I'm talking about before tomorrow night's game. The person I'm thinking of is someone different.

With a nickname name like the Big Hurt, you gotta have OPS! Frank Thomas. Considering what he's done, somehow this guy gets ignored, but he's definitely one of the best hitters of the last 20 years.

According to mlb.com, Frank Thomas has a career OPS of 1.009 and Bonds has an OPS of 1.011. In fact, Todd Helton is the only player who currently has greater than 3000 TPA and a higher OPS than Bonds, with 1.044. :-P

Arlo, where do I go to lodge a formal complaint? This is an outrage! ;-7

I have Thomas at 1.008, actually, with Bonds at 1.011. Helton stands at 1.043...

If somebody wants to take the time to calculate career OPS at the time this question was asked as well as at the time of each answer, feel free... 8-o

However, I'd suggest scoring a run for both Thomas and Helton. :->

Now to get out of here before someone piles dirt on home plate!
