Flushing, NY (Sports Network) - New York Mets third baseman Ty Wigginton, who was diagnosed with an ulcer earlier in the week, was released from NYU Medical Center on Saturday.
Wigginton was treated for the ulcer and is expected to rest at home this weekend before returning the medical center on Monday for more tests.
Wigginton fainted at his home prior to Wednesday night's game versus Montreal and complained about being dizzy while at Shea Stadium. The 26-year-old was then admitted to the hospital following the contest.
He was placed on the 15-day disabled list Thursday and is not eligible to return to the lineup until May 6.
For the season, Wigginton is batting .188 with a pair of homers and nine runs batted in.
