Dusty stated earlier this week the joe's was still the man. With that being said, I would not put it past him to go against his word. We all know that he sucks a handling pitchers.

Oh, and by the way I dont think hawkins pitched all week so I assume dusty wanted to give him some more work.

Agreed. Dusty lied to the guy Borowski replaced last season. Told him "the job is his when he gets back". Pure, 100% BS.

Dusty likes to keep everyone involved. I'd agree w/ Colt 4523 that, as Hawkins hadn't pitched, Dusty figured to toss him out for an easy outing vs. the Mets w/ the wind blowing in. That way Borowski is fresh and Hawkins is pumped up, a 'win-win' for the Cubbies!!
