Well, I'm not worried about Delgado and Hinske. I think they'll be fine. Wells though, lost a lot of weight in the offseason, and I wasn't sure if he'd be back to his 2003 form. As long as a few guys, like Phelps, Howie Clark, Reed Johnson, Catalanotto, etc have a big game once in a while, we should win our fair share.
Starting pitching, I'm not so optimistic. Outside of Halladay and Batista, I don't think we're solid at all. Lilly never appealed to me much, Hentgen was good 10 years ago, and should be retired, and I don't think Miller is going ot be anything special.
At least our bullpen should be good. Kershner needs to be as good as last year, he's out only real lefty threat out of the bullpen. de los Santos has been pretty bad. The new additions (Adams, Ligtenburg, and Speier) look really good so far, so Lopez stinking it up doesn't affect us as much as it would have last year. Nakamura also is a pleasant surprise, getting his share of K's in both AAA and the majors. 15 K's in 10 IP between the two teams.
To sum it up, I think we'll reach out potential of finishing in 3rd place. WOOHOOO! Break out the champagne!
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"
"I've got your phone number written, in the back of my Bible."
