He's hitting .148 with 4 runs scored, 1 rbi, and 0 steals. Any hope that he'll do much this year or is it time to ditch him?
Roger Angell: I was talking with Bob Gibson and I said: 'Are you always this competitive?' He said: 'Oh, I think so. I got a three-year old daughter, and I've played about 500 games of tic-tac-toe with her and she hasn't beat me yet.'
I'm with you on this one... bowa juggling him from 1st to 8th in the lineup all the time doesn't help. I think rollins might get released from my team sometime soon in favor of a bobby crosby or khalil greene or something like that.
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and he'll drown because you forgot to teach him to swim.

There are a half-dozen shortstops I could get who might be better than Rollins: Cintron, A. Gonzalez (the Chicago Cub version), Khalil Greene, Carlos Guillen, Julio Lugo...

I would go for Cintron. At this point almost anything is an upgrade....

Cintron is definately better. Even Lugo or Adam Everett might be better options at this point. I've always though Everett would break out sometime, for some reason.....maybe it's the park/lineup he plays in. I dunno. But he's looking good so far.

I'm looking forward to Rollins grabbing some bench. I've got Chase Utley in a deep NL-only league and he's next in line. Maybe he's the future catalyst the Phillies need? Yea, sure.
Anyone else keeping eye on Utley?

I have Utley in a deep NL-only league as well. I haven't heard how well he's playing in the minors tho. I thought he was 2B/3B, can he play SS too?
As for Rollins, I knew to stay away from him with a 20 foot pole after hearing Tony Gwynn talk about him during an ESPN spring training game. Gwynn said he tried to help Rollins out with his hitting in the offseason but he has no plate discipline. The announcer asked Tony if Rollins could improve into a solid hitter and Gywnn said something like: well he's still young and talented, but he's also really stubborn.
