you have no idea wut ur talking about. Zito is hardley overrated.

I DONT get how any of you can make judgments on players after 3 weeks?

Obviouslt you are new to the cafe, we have had COUNTLESS threads/discussions as to why Zito is not overrated.

He's definitely overrated in most leagues I've been in. I don't see an ERA under 4 out of him this year, which is much higher than most expect. 9 ER so far today doesn't help the matter.

Zito is just a couple of years removed from being touted as the zen guru of pitching. He's decent, but that's about it. There are still way too many out there that think he is still an elite pitcher regardless of the fact that he is completely inconsistent.

To me, that pretty much says he's overrated.

He's still a decent pitcher...but definitely no ace.

A few months ago I started a 7 or 8 page thread that gave many reasons why zito was not overrated, and why the K/BB drop in ratio is complete BullS*** that he is declining.

Zito is so overrated....14 wins/146 strikeouts despite pitching 231 innings last year. He was comparible to the likes of:

Dontrelle Willis: 14/142
Hideo Nomo: 16/177
Carlos Zambrano 13/168
Joel Pineiro 16/151
Vincente Padilla 13/144
Livan Hernandez 15/178
CC Sabathia 13/141

Before you jump onto the ERA/Whip part...I did my research and they all had similar ERA/WHIP to barry Zito. This list of pitchers are pretty good pitchers...but are any of them Elite?? Hardly..
Is Barry Zito a good pitcher and a huge asset the the A's? No one is doubting that. But is Barry Zito overrated in fantasy baseball?? Most definately. You could have drafted any of these pitchers from above later than Barry Zito last year, and you can still draft every single one of these pitchers on the list above later than barry Zito THIS year.

I watched Zito pitch last Sunday (have him in 2 leagues) and I was not impressed. He's always in trouble and looks lazy out there on the mound....I'll obviously keep him though and hope for the best.

Umm....well, first of all, a look at my sn will tell you my opinion (roughly) on Zito.

Second of all, by "no ace" do you mean in fantasy or in real life?
