I shouldn't talk, I am a Jays fan...but, it's funny because your payroll and egoes are so huge and you lose to "cinderella" teams.
I've said my piece...
At least they GOT to the WS...
Sean Tracey has my apologies, we all know Ozzie Guillen is an idiot. I'm rooting for you!

So basically, you can't defend what you said cause it was wrong so you just switch topics....
What was suspect was your point; so what, they finished 2nd two years in a row. You either win, or you don't. Good for them, they made it there but then did not win when it counted the most. That is what I was pointing out and it clearly is right...
An unanswered question is better than an unquestioned answer

As a long suffering Giants fan I gotta say I prefer them getting bounced in the first round of the playoffs as opposed to getting all the way to the world series and then losing.. 2002 was horrible for
us going from 6 outs away to losing game 6 to losing it all...
the rule is not within 3 runs, exactly. the other team has to be within the number of outs you record up to 6 outs. if you pitch 3 innings its a save no matter what as long as the lead doesnt change otherwise its a win. otherwise.....start in the ninth, you record 3 outs, then its a save if the other team is within 3. 1 1/3 they can be within 4 and so on and so forth. im not 100% on this but im pretty sure.
Don't forget to count the runners on base. Here is the official definition.
SAVES FOR RELIEF PITCHERS
10.20
Credit a pitcher with a save when he meets all three of the following conditions: (1) He is the finishing pitcher in a game won by his club; and (2) He is not the winning pitcher; and (3) He qualifies under one of the following conditions: (a) He enters the game with a lead of no more than three runs and pitches for at least one inning; or (b) He enters the game, regardless of the count, with the potential tying run either on base, or at bat, or on deck (that is, the potential tying run is either already on base or is one of the first two batsmen he faces); or (c) He pitches effectively for at least three innings. No more than one save may be credited in each game.
Eternal vigilance is the price of integrity.

you're right. the yanks have underperformed the last couple of years. Crap like that happens... bad luck, cold streaks etc, however, certain teams just seem to have a tendenc to fold come august and september.
