Shortstop Hughie Jennings set the ML record for being hit by pitches, both in a single season and his career. He played primarily during the 1890's, before taking up the helm of the Detroit Tigers in the early 1900's. (Interestingly enough, he played in 4 games during his managerial stint, going 3-for-9 over a span of 12 years, but did not add to his HBP totals.)
What modern player and manager (but never both at the same time

) holds the AL record for being HBP, both in a single season and for his career?
