I've got some serious beef with the Marlins' game

1. What is up with the high strike not being called whatsoever? I know that the strike zone tends to be lower in the NL, but this discrepancy is way too great, considering both are in the MLB.

2. The Marlins cannot field for their lives. Beckett's not pitching very well and they're certainly not helping. Examples:

a. Redmond's errant throw on Furcal. That Furcal chip set the tone. Furcal's fast, but he did not need to rush it.

b. Castillo's bobble. No error charged, but he could've had a play at the plate with no error.

c. Conine at the wall for LaRoche's 2 run double. He didn't need to leap for that catch. Misplayed it badly.

End rant. God...you don't expect Josh Beckett to give up five runs against the Braves, who only have a very average offense this year, especially without Chipper.

You've done my ranting for me. A very frustrating game to watch, second tonight only to the Contreras debacle. Beckett deserves better.

Beckett has great stuff tonight. He doesn't deserve 5ER.

Time to sacrifice some chickens to the fantasy gods.

i'm watching the broadcast. it seems to me that the ump has a really small zone...

also. I hope you have a silver dagger.

He's calling strikes that are below the knees...the strike zone isn't that small, it's just off. The high strikes aren't being called strikes, while he's calling strikes that are lower than the usual strike zone.
