Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - The Milwaukee Brewers Friday placed pitcher Chris Capuano on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left quadriceps. The move is retroactive to April 19.
The lefthander, who was acquired in the trade that sent Richie Sexson to Arizona, is 1-2 this season in three starts with a 3.46 ERA. He was originally signed as Arizona's eighth round selection in the 1999 June free agent draft.
Capuano took the loss in his last start, giving up one run and two hits in two innings against Houston on Sunday. He left in the third with the injury.
Capuano, 25, has made just eight career starts.
To fill the roster spot, Milwaukee recalled righthander Chris Saenz from Huntsville of the Southern League.
