If you could get Mags for Burrell would you take the offer? Is it a no brainer or close?

According to ESPN.com, Ordonez is getting drafted about 20 slots before Burrell ... based on the rankings, I would make the trade.

Same as above - I would take Mags for Burrell easily but that RP part throw a big curve into the decision. If you have another good closer or two then go for it but if you'd have a bit of a hole at RP then don't. Jiminez is able to get saves in Coors.

Inevitably, you can pick up some unheralded closer who step up during the season. Go with Mags, he da bomb. And who knows, maybe Alfonseca will come through though he might be out for awhile. MRI will tell the tale.
It's time to roll the dice.

you gotta

Postby red_freedom » Thu Mar 20, 2003 1:33 pm

you gotta grab magglio. I love burell but its not even close. magglio will put up better rbis and runs with a much better avg. Also comeon the white sox arent winning the world championship. And koch shouldnt even be muttered in the same breath with buerhle and colon (and colon should be the first person mentioned)

Do not even equate the closer issue. There are always closers out there on the waiver wire throughout the season. Mags is better than Burrell. Go get him.
