Moyer isn't a tough lefty to hit off of IMO. He's a light thrower so he doesn't get an advantage by hiding the ball from lefties. He's more of a finesse guy and I don't know the splits but I'd assume righties and lefties are about equal off of him.
But still, 2 HR by Chavez off of a lefty? Looks like a good sign that he might eventually be a marquee 3B and bat around 300.

Even though he's started slow, I like the way his BB/K ratio is trending. Take a look at the last 3 years:
2001: 41 BB/99 K
2002: 65 BB/119 K
2003: 62 BB/89 K
Current season (including today): 15 BB/ 10 K
It could be due to the small sample size, but it could also be a leading indicator that he's ready to make another big jump in production this year once he finds his groove. Stay tuned...

I am patiently waiting for Chavez to heat up. For now I have M. Cabrera at third.

I'm not sure what you would call heating up, but I think this is it.

I'm amazed by Chavez...3 walks just today...crazy...

I would have to agree. This is it. 5 runs/2 HR/4 RBI's in the last two days. There definitely is some heat there!!! Go Chavy!!!
