Mets' Wigginton hospitalized after fainting

Postby WebHamster » Thu Apr 22, 2004 2:00 pm

New York, NY (Sports Network) - New York Mets third baseman Ty Wigginton was hospitalized following Wednesday night's game against Montreal after fainting in his home and then complaining of dizziness during the contest at Shea Stadium.

Wigginton was placed in the NYU Medical Center and is expected to miss the Mets road trip to Chicago, Los Angeles and San Diego. It's likely that he will be put on the 15-day disabled list.

For the season, Wigginton is batting .188 with a pair of homers and nine runs batted in.
