What's with Jay Payton?

What happened to Jay Payton? He wasn't in San Diego's starting lineup, and I haven't heard that he was injured or anything, why wasn't he playing? Anybody have any info??

No injury that I know of. Just looks to me as though Payton is going to occasionally sit in favor of Long against certain righthanders.
