I don't have to tell you that Kelvim, apart from showing some K ability has looked pretty bad this year. One more good start from Mitre and I'm picking him up....

It would take 4-5 good starts from Mitre before I'd even consider picking him up. This was his first good start in 2 years. Don't jump the gun on this guy. He isn't that good.

I wouldn't pick him up in a 12 team NL only league. :-t

Mitre's career minor league numbers are 23-23, 3.06 and a whopping 295 K's in 405 IP. And that's at A and AA.

But he did have a very good start tonight, so I guess he's now the rage here till he gets lit up, at which point he will be a bum.

Okay, he's not a terrible prospect. Seventh round pick in '01, has decent control. Projects as a back of the rotation starter in the bigs. But he's never gonna be a stud, and as far as fantasy goes, placing any kind of faith in questionable rookies is a sure way to blow up your team.

He had a good start on April 10th against Atlanta. He went 7 2/3 innings and gave up 2 earned runs. I'm praying that the hype doesn't crank up on this guy just because he's pitching in Chicago, but the kid has looked good. Inconsistent, but good. Not a stud though.

Well not a stud but not a bad prospect either. If he wasnt on the Cubs awsome pitching depht he wouldve been starting this year.

i dont think hes in their plans. theyve already got an almost full rotation, with better players on the rise through the minors. mitre is just a filler for a while until they either trade him or send him back down. sort of like depaula and osborne in new york, cept nobody will want to trade for those pieces of trash. they figure, hell have a really good night here, and a horrible night there, but hell keep us in games. i plan to stay away from him.
