I'm relying a fair amount him to get at least 16 wins with a sub-3.00 ERA. What do you Mets experts think? What do you think his line will look like this year?

Shea Stadium is a good pitchers' park, so that should help his cause. However, the Mets defense is pretty woeful ... Glavine may miss having Andruw Jones in center chasing down all those fly balls after Roger Cedeno misses the second or third ball hit to him on opening day.

All in all, I think Glavine's season depends on the Mets' season. If they can do what they didn't do last year, score runs, I think both Glavine and Leiter will have fine fantasy years. If the team again struggles to score runs, they will all fall apart again, hate each other, and everyone's stats will suffer.

It's true that Shea is not a good hitters park. That may save him though and cause him to hover around the 3.00 e.r.a. mark. I would peg him for at least 15 wins this year even if the Mets happen to suck. I always hated him and I still don't know if I can stomach him being on the Mets, but uninjured he should be somewhere around 15 or 16 wins with a steady e.r.a.of between 3.00 and 3.50. BTW, I also think the Mets defense will be much better this year. I base this on how well they seem to have come together for spring training. They really look like a team that is sick of their bad reputation. Of course they could all just be doing too many bong hits too...LOL.

i look at it this way glavine is a good pitcher moving to a great pitchers park. if he gets the run support and defense then he should be a lock for 16 wins 125 SO 3.25 ERA, give or take of course. i wouldnt expect more than that out of him though. also if you guys are worried about the runs and defense it couldnt get any worse than last year and they seem to have gotten their act together so far this Spring.

Glavine is off to a great start this year. Are his first 2 outings just a fluke or has he found his magic of old??

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.
